For us, as Deleuze said, the diagram is the agent of the construction of reality.
The Time-MicroCity is based on an augmented notion of time that needs to be handled with precision and rigor. The best methodology for the temporal approach is the cartographic tool. For that, we designed a series of futuristic hypotheses that would cover the extreme variations of the time bank so the rest of possibilities could lay in between them.
| SEE MORE | A city (Madrid), like the rest of European capitals, segregates its areas by use, creating segregated cities that develop segregated citizens. The TMC program is organized in a completely opposite way, in an organic manner, according to the needs of the population. Each moment will have its own use and its consequent (custom) structure, resulting in a hyper-concentration of programs that allows every personal tour. Therefore, a structure that is in constant crisis and reconstruction, can admit different cycles of uses and allow new forms of cooperation, between different people who will join in a common desire for a space to develop their particular interests. One should not forget the strong pressure exerted by the lack of cultural infrastructure and thought that exists in the area. The very structure of the building becomes the first object of the time-bank (the time bank begins as the construction of the time bank) and also its demolition, reconstruction, reconfiguration, mutation… It will be evaluated over the years its assembly, its condition, its possible rehabilitation, its replacement or its demolition. Here you are only given a proposal of organization based on statistical models of infrastructure needs per capita: – Culture sector: that forms the outer formalization of the proposal, is located on the outer side tying the public outdoor space. – Production sector: both the materials necessary for the works and for the production of textile, chemical, energy and food that is organized around the interaction surfaces of the transversal program. – Service sector: offering products but also it produces research, projects, designs and raising the necessary forms of cooperation and exchange that may occur at the infrastructure. It is organized around the areas of interaction. – Cross sector: is the organizer of the other three sectors. It is the sector of reflection, of claim, the basic needs, the ideological recycling process. It is the producer of ideologies. As diagrams freaks, we use it as a map of “pure relations” -relations of forces “outside” related terms-, a cartography of “lines of escape” that could develop an alternative construction of the qualitatively new (that which is new in kind) that could surpass the past or present actuality. | SEE LESS |
